Metabolism Facts not Fiction

The terms metabolism and metabolic change are both
scientific terms and there has been a plethora of
information written on both, some of which is conflicting.

When we lose weight or gain weight in a way that is
significant to us, we may misguidedly attribute this
weight change to metabolic changes.

Metabolism can be increased, this is
scientifically proven. When we do this,
our bodies end up burning more calories
because the body is functioning physiologically
in a way that uses ore calories. What happens
for example when we eat foods that are proven
to increase our metabolism on a regular basis
or we sit in a sauna or steam room for many
hours? the answer is visible weight loss.
But why?

Eating foods which increase metabolism is a way
to secure a faster metabolic rate and so lose
weight consistently and achieve ideal body
shape if desired, but the steam or sauna method
only increases water loss, so is not indicative
of anything more than one of the temporary ways
to increase metabolism.

We'll illustrate with the example of a steam room, why we
can't always relate our weight loss with metabolic change
every time.

We are all familiar with "LOW FAT" labels in
supermarkets and grocery stores. However eating
"LOW FAT" foods solely to increase metabolism
will not work. Actually, some persons do increase
their weight with such product, because they
contain carbohydrates and proteins to replace
the fat which will need to be burnt off anyway
if they are not to be convertedf into fats in
the body. So, a correct balance of foods
conjunction with a planned metabolism boosting
diet is essential if you want to increase your
metabolic rate on a more than temmporary basis.

Working out the truth of metabolism is a process which when
we think about it is quite depressing. Thousands upon
millions of people try to lose weight each year by speeding
up their metabolism, but fail and think they've failed in
trying to reclaim control over their health and wellbeing.

A lot of people would agree that the
responsibility for providing correct info about
boosting metabolism safely and effectively should
however fall on the health services sector and
nutritional authorities and that it is really
their failure.

Given that the size of the nutritional field is
and the amount of money being put into research
and enterpise in this field, it's time to take a
look at the fact that information is flowing to
people like us and stopn playing the game of
"wait and see"
