Natural Therapies for Cancer Patients

Cancer isn't the scary death sentence that it once was due
to revolutions in science. But are there ways to avoid the
chemicals of chemotherapy and radiation?

This is not to suggest that radiation and chemotherapy are
in question themselves. In fact many patients respond
favorably to both treatments. In any case, this is a matter
of personal choice -- one that is between a patient and
doctor and best dealt with in the privacy of a
doctor's'soffice.

But there are reports of additional therapies that appear to
help conventional cancer treatment methods. Some patients
have reported success while relying solely on these
therapies.

Organic diet

There has been a lot of research into the effect of food on
your body in the treatments of other illnesses, so it seems
only fair that cancer may be affected positively (though
it's proven more so to be negatively with poor eating
habits) by eating the right foods.

Eating natural foods that contain few, if any, processed
ingredients have had amazing results among cancer patients.
The premise behind this is that natural food creates a
healthier balance in the body and this increases the body's
ability to combat cancer cells.

And while scientific studies cannot agree on the evidence,
it seems that in addition to vegetables and fruit, green tea
can also fight cancer. There are accounts of patients whose
cancerous tumor receded. There is more than just hope, it
seems, with the recommended three cups of green tea a day.

Exercising and Relaxation

Staying relaxed and easy helps, people say, but yoga and any
form of meditation make their bodies feel healthy enough to
tackle the cancer.

This could well come from the release of stress, which is
why it often complements conventional treatments. But other
theories suggest that meditation and yoga promote
positivism, with naturally positive outcomes.

Regular exercise rebuilds fatigued muscles and improves
circulation. This helps alleviate a lot of the stress and
anxiety felt by patients when they learn of their cancer and
have to make certain lifestyle changes.

Cancer is not the end of the world and with the right
treatment and a positive outlook, a patient can beat the
disease. Alternate therapies provide added relief along the
road to recovery.

Fighting cancer requires all the strength and resilience a
patient can muster so any additional help that is out there
should be taken up without hesitation.
